Besides having a good teacher, another key factor in learning a musical instrument well is perseverance and consistent practice. Practice requires you to engage with your instrument outside of lesson time, for which we offer two options.

Purchase your own instrument.

Having a personal instrument fosters a deeper connection and familiarity, allowing for more effective and personalised practice sessions tailored to individual learning needs and musical goals.

Our center provides instrument purchasing services, rigorously ensuring quality in terms of tone, material, and more. We offer Chinese Instruments from renowned brands such as Dunhuang, Yayun, Tianyi, Qionghua, as well as renowned American Harp brands Lyon & Healy, Italian Salvi, or cost-effective Chinese Aiqing Harps for harp students.

Renting an instrument*

Beginners can rent:

  1. A small 23-string harp for $70 AUD per month
  2. A second hand Guzheng for $50 AUD per month

There are no time restrictions on rentals, allowing you to use the instrument for as long as needed. Our competitive rental rates offer significant savings compared to market prices. Our goal is to ensure all students have access to instruments, nurturing their passion for music.

*Rental is only available for students who take lessons at Silk String Music School.
